this being a photo blog now it seems silly to post without a picture, even though this post is more about site updates than picture content. anyhow, this is a helicopter that was running bucket duty on the fires in the next valley over from where we were staying. when we passed the fire looked pretty small, but the next few days saw a ton of smoke coming into the lake valley and on the way back we saw that pretty much an entire hill bordering the valley had been burned up. it doesn’t look like anyone lost a home or crop because of it but it did look like it was really close in some places.
now the updates. you may have noticed i added flickrRSS to the top. it’s just showing the last 10 pictures i posted to my account. i also figured out how to use Shutter Reloaded. go ahead and click on the main photo to see it in action. it probably doesn’t look like much since it links to the same image and my page background is already pretty dark but that’s ok, it’s neat.
