seattle’s driving while on your cell phone ban goes into effect today. normally i’d be really happy. except that the law states that talking on your handset while driving is a secondary offense. which means a cop can’t pull you over just for talking on your handset. and i keep saying handset because hands-free devices are still legal. this is such a waste of legislation.
Oh, don’t worry. They wouldn’t pull them over even if it was a primary offense. I’m still convinced that I’m going to be getting a ticket for not having my headlights on while my wipers are going, just to see people cruise by while talking on their phone and pointing.
