went to a photo shoot in gasworks park on friday. it was fun. we were playing with strobes in the dark. got there before sunset for the magic hour light and got some good shots. then shot into the dark with strobes and other lights.

Jared… I think I see some growth as an artist/photographer! Keep up the good work. Hope you don’t mind if I snarf your ideas. I learn a alot by immitation.

Please tell me about the double exposure…

heh, sorry about not getting back sooner, haven’t had a minute for the site.

yeah, that’s actually a very deceptively simple technique that kind of happened on accident. it’s actually one long exposure. the trick is that since it’s dark whenever something light comes into the frame it gets “burned” onto the image.

what happened was i had a long exposure and our model was dancing around while other people flashed a strobe. each time the strobe flashed the sensor picked it up and froze her image.

so instead of a constant blur of motion, constant light capture, we have, i think, three distinct captures because that’s how many times she got strobed in my exposure.

    Cool! Thanks for the explanation…

You are really developing a good eye as well as serendipitously discovering cool techniques. I like your composure on the shots.
