we got all our heavy stuff in the apartment on friday. so our couch and remaining shelf is taken care of. i’ll upload some pictures later. it’s nice to have all our stuff here. because it means that whatever is left at the old place are things we don’t really need. so we can probably throw a lot of it away.

in other news i finally got a Wii. i know a guy that knows a guy. i went to gamestop yesterday to see what i could get for my ps2 and i got 3 Wii games for it. i actually got a lot more than i’d hoped since it was gamestop and all. i had put the whole deal up on craigslist for $160 and not a bite. i ended up making $135 at gamestop. while i was in there the employees noticed that i was trading a copy of We <3 Katamari. apparently it’s become impossible to find and a guy offered me $20 cash on the spot for it (as opposed to the $12 trade-in GS was offering). so in exchange for all that i got Rayman: Raving Rabbids, Elebits, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Raving Rabbids is fun, but some of the mini-games are frustrating as all hell. haven’t played Elebits yet but from what i hear if you liked katamari you’ll like this.
Twilight Princess is awesome. even though they’re sticking to a tried and true formula that they’ve been using since the dawn of Zelda it never gets old. the control for the wii does seem tacked on a little but i like it. the ability to aim more naturally with projectile weapons is nice and actually having to swing your wiimote around to attack things adds a little to the immersion. luckily it doesn’t require much to attack so it’s not like you’ll get tired from waving your arm around for hours; all you need is a little flick. graphics wise it looks like a very polished GCN game, which i find myself not really caring about. it looks good enough and the game stands well enough on it’s own without fancy graphics.
tessa also likes it and kicks my ass at wii sports boxing. i can’t wait for some more co-op/party games to come out. mario party 8 should be coming out soon, and i’ve heard of a version of ddr that will utilize hand movements with the remotes is in the pipe. all very exciting. i have great expectations for this system and so far i have not been disappointed.

we’re going to go over to the old place today and pick up a bunch of things. hopefully we’ll be able to clear out anything we really need and just toss the rest and be done with this whole mess. just being in the new place feels nice so i’m glad we made this move. i had some reservations about the way things are arranged but i guess you just make adjustments. specifically the inability to use my old floor speakers as surround speakers now, but that just means i’ll have to acquire some wall mount surrounds at some point. darn.

finally

Figured you already knew about this but… You mentioned that you had used WordPress software. Maybe you are safe. Just an FYI…

[0]GrumpySimon writes “The recent 2.1.1 release of the popular blog
software WordPress was compromised by a cracker who [1]made it easier for
to execute code remotely. This is interesting because the official
release was quietly and subtly compromised, and has been in the wild for
a few days now. There’s no word on if any affected sites have been
compromised, but anyone running WordPress is urged to upgrade to 2.1.2
immediately, and admins can check their logs for access to ‘theme.php’ or
‘feed.php’, and query strings with ‘ix=’ or ‘iz=’ in them.”
