i know, i never post anymore. and every time this becomes apparent i say i’ll post more. then i don’t. so i’m not making any promises.

so what’s new…

i set up my first marine aquarium.

it’s about done cycling, all my bad parameters are almost zero. another week and a water change and things should be perfect. then it’s just a matter of waiting to completely stabalize before i start getting harder to keep stuff. so far i’ve got a clownfish and a neon goby. as well as some snails and hermit crabs. i had some shrimp yesterday but they died. i think the water was either too cold (didn’t have my heater set properly) or any trace of nitrates (~20ppm) did them in. either way, i’ll try again in a week or two. i’ve got two corals that are pretty hardy, zoathind and caulastrea. here are some photos, respectively.

these were taken with my new camera, a Nikon S3. thin and light, point and shoot wherever, whenever. just what i wanted. got a good deal on it too; which is probably why i got it. so expect to see more posts with pictures of things. and stuff.
