when i went out to ride thursday night after getting my wheel back the cog slipped again. i was ready to be really pissed. i took it to the shop the next day and made them take the cog off to make sure everything was fine, and it was. so they tightened it down right and everything was ok. phew.

i got road shoes and pedals, since i ride a road bike… instead of the mountain bike shoes and pedals i was using before. so now i guess i gotta pawn those off on CL or something. if you know anyone that would want a slightly used pair of SIDI Dominators in size 44.5 and a pair of Crank Bros. Candy C pedals, in bright yellow, for a good price let me know. i got a pair of SIDI Genius road shoes, the ones i should have gotten in the first place, and a pair of Speedplay Zeros. i gotta say i wish i had done that from the beginning. the power transfer and comfort are sooooo much better. they’re also 100g lighter. which i dunno if it counts for much but it does in my head. my new saddle is also a hell of a lot lighter than the stock saddle. it weighs 198g and really hurts my butt. but the important part is that it does not hurt my soft bits. i also ordered a hand-built wheelset from my cousin. Velocity DeepV rims laced to Miche Primato Pista hubs. these will probably be the last set of track wheels i’ll need to buy. absolutely bomb proof. the hubs will be machined aluminum and the rims will be white, so it will match my bike like woah. all of this is almost completely unneccessary. but i’ve learned that you do whatever makes you want to ride your bike more. and don’t get me wrong, i love my car, but the less time i spend commuting in it the better. i’ll post pics end of next week when my wheels get here.
