so i found today that a certain online bike shop has Paul black anodized high flange track hubs for about $80 less than most places i’ve seen for a pair. that comes out to $198 with a 10% discount on orders over $100. i’m having a really hard time not buying these. the only problem is i don’t know how long i’d be able to just hold onto the hubs and not buy spokes and rims to get em built. i’m thinking black Mavic OpenPro or CXP-33 with black Wheelsmith spokes; 32/32 3x/3x. be strong as all hell and if i got them built right the first time, probably not have to true them for a long time. the only problem is that those rims are about $70 for either, and that many 32 spokes for each wheel is going to run about $60/wheel. so we’re looking at a $500 wheelset here. which is better than the Phils/DeepV i wanted to do. woulda been about $300 just for hubs. and i think i’d have just as strong a wheelset, and just shy of being as bomb-proof. i dunno, i’m gonna have to think about it, but i just might do it if there are any left by the time i have cash.

anyone know where i can get Open Pros or CXP33s for less than that? also if you have any input about either rim, or a suggestion for another i’m all ears.

i’m a consumer… what of it?

? What the duce? What the hell are u buying now? LoL I’m so confused. Do you know anything about basic street bikes (like the type I’d buy to go from my house to school)? I’m gonna get one when I get back to Iowa, but it doesn’t need to be super-pimped out like your ride. Would you be someone who could give me advice on affordable brands?
