you know when you’re searching for a particular piece of gear and you have a hard time finding it, and then one day you find something that fits the bill perfectly? why is it always so fucking expensive?
i’ve been looking for a pair of bike knickers since i can’t bring myself to wear spandex shorts or full tights and i’ve been having the hardest time finding something that would work. and i found these. they’re perfect; they’re stretchy, water resistent, and breathable. they’re also able to adjust the lentgth from knees to mid-calf. the only problem is they’re only available from london and they’re $160. rapha also makes a softshell that’s really nice, and not so expensive… for a softshell. i really like the pants, but i’m going to see if they drop the price like they did on their softshell. it’s also hard to not buy the softshell because it’s starting to get warm here so i’d only use it for about a month in the mornings before it got too hot to use it. it would be perfect if they dropped the price on the knickers sometime in the summer though. i think for now i’m just gonna cut off some dickies and hem them with reflective tape.
