yeah i know the last few posts have been about nothing but cycling, but it IS my new obsession…
i’ve decided to buy a track bike. this one in particular, in chrome. i’ve come to the conclusion that building up beater with better components is going to cost as much as a new bike anyway. so why not just buy a new bike that comes built where i want my beater to be? so i’m looking into getting me a shiny italian track bike. i’ll probably still use the beater for commuting, but i want a nicer bike.
i also found a velodrome in redmond that offers beginner track racing classes, and amateur track races on mondays. not sure if i want to do this yet, but it sounds like fun. i wouldn’t be entering these races to win so much as just to have the satisfaction of doing them. i like that this obsession is taking me outside and getting me exercise.
