srsly

so i rearranged my apartment today, slightly. i moved my tv back into the corner it was in when i first mmoved in, though farther out of the corner so i can leave my speakers about 6 feet apart. i moved this cube shelf thing i got at ikea out of my closet into the living room for more storage and to put my turntables back out. i’ve been meaning to start using them again, so i might as well put them back in sight. if nothing else i’ll look cool. this leaves a problem in the closet with my clothes. i hope to remedy this with a cheap chest of drawers or something from ikea. i saw this one with 4 15″ cube/drawer things in it for 40 bucks that looked like it would suit my purposes. i also got rid of that awful shelf from target. thing cost 40 bucks and wasn’t very sturdy. i know i put it together, but it didn’t exactly go together well. so now all my movies and video games and books are on my nice ikea bookshelf. i’ve come to the conclusion that i have a lot of video games and dvds.
i like the way it looks. it feels a bit more open, even though i might have constricted the walkways a little bit. they were huge before this little rearrangement anyway though. i’ve also decided i need a new coffee table. something along the lines of a 36″ square. a 48″ rectangle just feels weird. especially since i just put a drink, maybe a plate, and my feet on it. maybe i’ll look at that when i’m at ikea. i think the next couple months is going to be spent on furniture. after i get bike shoes.
speaking of, the parts my cousin sent arrived today. they’re nice. i just need to get paid now, and i can get a smaller chainring (or freewheel) and some shoes and i’ll be riding a bit more efficiently. i might get a new saddle too, and ride more comfortably. we’ll see how finances go. i really don’t feel like a repeat of the last two months. hopefully all this bonus i’m getting next paycheck will give me enough of a kick to keep up.
