article discussing some social problems facing a HPV vaccine. so what’s the point of contention? sane people want to give out the vaccine to people before puberty to prevent them from ever contracting the virus. conservatives want to not do that because they feel it will send a message of promiscuity to america’s youth.
so let me make sure i’m understanding the position of the religious right. they want to not give out a vaccine for an unpleasant STD that could lead to cervical cancer… because they think it will send a message to america’s youth that it’s ok to have pre-marital sex… well shit. according to that logic i should never drink a hot beverage in anything but a sippy cup because the large opening in my tea cup invites me to spill scalding liquid all over myself.
