so i’ve booked my trip to whistler. and while i was talking to the travel agent i asked him what the weather was like, and he said they were getting a little dusting as we spoke. then the following week (this week) i find out that blackcomb is opening this weekend.
score.
halloween has come and gone rather quietly. kat carved a pumpkin on monday and the candle inside it has been burning since then on our porch. it’s a jack skellington pumpkin. i don’t care if it’s kinda clich+¬d, i like it. now that halloween is done, it’s pretty much officially Cold Weather Season. it’s been raining and getting steadily colder the last couple weeks. i couldn’t be happier. i’ve been waiting for cold weather and snow since our miserable warm winter of last year.
incidentally, it also means holiday season for the next three months in World of Warcraft. the whole last month has been halloween themed and all the innkeepers have been handing out trick-or-treats in the form of polymorphing a costume on you, costume wands, and candy. next up is the harvest festival which will probably entail a bunch of nice food items. and wouldn’t it be rad if for the month of november they made a special raid boss that was a giant undead turkey or something. the game was released right after thanksgiving last year, so we didn’t really get anything for that. and christmas last year just seemed to be a bunch of decorations and quests about orphans. maybe this year will be something more exciting. at first i was kinda wary about paying a monthly fee for this game, but i feel i’ve really gotten my money’s worth. and if blizzard keeps upping the ante every holiday i’ll probably be playing this as long as i played diablo.
