seems like i only post about the weekend anymore.

we went to vancouver, B.C. this weekend to visit the aquarium. it was a smaller aquarium, but they had some very interesting and unique exhibits. for one thing, they had the most freshwater exhibits i’ve ever seen. they had one tank filled with very, very large fish from the amazon; catfish as large as me. they also had a tank full of Apteronotus albifrons. it’s kind of weird to go to a zoo and see animals that you have as a pet on display.
the aquarium is in Stanely Park, which is beautiful. it also turned out to be a disturbingly nice day. bonus. we drove around the park because we were lost, had lunch outside, and saw a herd of black squirrels. we also had crepes filled with sweet things and sat on the sidewalk people watching. vancouver is great for that. i got a bunch of pictures, but i was packing the 35, so i’ll have to develop it first. i was shooting B&W film, so if any of them came out, i’ll post them here.

i also got The Sims 2 on saturday. the first thing i did was recreate my apartment, myself, and kat. it’s kind of weird how closely our sim counterparts act like we do; although it’s kind of hard not to anthropomorphize your sims. i also made tessa and The Box Where We Keep Tessa. she immediately took a liking to kat and after a while, most of her Aspirations involved making out with her. this was all done through almost no prodding from myself. the only thing i made tessasim do was invite kat out to the community pool. they started making out by themselves. kat and my counterparts aren’t doing so well. they had a major setback early on with a kitchen fire, which damaged katsim quite severely. she had to undergo therapy and now talks to a volleyball with a graduate’s cap every now and then. my sim appears to like the ladies. in addition to katsim, there are two other girlsims that he likes to talk to. i’ve been letting our sims pretty much have free will. i will direct them to more efficient means of getting ready for work or taking care of their domicile, but most of their social interactions and self betterment are mostly taken care of on their own. which lends more hilarity to their tendencies towards same sex, and multiple romances. relationships have had a major overhaul in this version what with the introduction of family ties, but it seems that sims still compartmentalize their individual relationships and don’t have a problem sleeping around.

this place is probably going to turn into a simsblog for a while. with the story feature, i may even put up another page dedicated to my sims. especially once i get all my friends and their domiciles built and added to my neighborhood.
